Overpayment Crisis
Hi - we've just been notified that there were many weeks when we were overpaid carers allowance when we were claiming (until last year - we're still barely making ends meet, but through work now).
It's likely to have been tiny amounts over the limit for most of those weeks, and we were never told that we needed to give them regular updates (I'm pretty sure they told us to just estimate an average weekly income at the beginning).
Now they've asked us to pay back more than £10,000 (dating back as far as 2018).
Where can we get help with sorting this out? Nothing like this has ever happened before and it's life-changing.

Oh no - nightmare. Just bumping this for you. I would think Welfare Rights and Citizens' Advice might be a couple of places to help you through

I'm not aware of Welfare Rights - is there a contact number for them?
