Does this mean I’ll be getting one bedroom rate for my rent

hi I approved my housing costs and I don’t get what she means by this. Does this mean I’m getting the one bed rate.
Hi l,Thanks for your journal message. as you declared that you had one bedroom and that is what you are being paid for from universal credit.

Yes, you declared that you had one bedroom and that is what UC will pay for.

so what will that be in Portsmouth

Do you rent privately?
You can look at the LHA rate here:
0 -
So it’ll be £639 a month

Is this privately rented? You didn't answer kimmys question. If so and there's a shortfall of rent you will be responsible for paying that. Sadly the majority of private rentals are not covered by the LHA.

yes it’s private rented , the uc journal said I’d be getting one bedroom rate so how much would that be

UC use the LHA rate for private rentals.

We can't tell you what that will be because all areas have different rates. Please see the link that's posted above and put your postcode in and then drop the bedroom entitlement down to 1 bedroom. The rates will be weekly so you will need to convert it to monthly.. times the amount by 52 and divide by 12 and that will give you the monthly rate.

it says 159 which is 634 a month. So will I be getting this mang thanks

£159/week as a monthly payment is £689/month. As you can't claim for more than what your rent liability is then your whole rent will be paid. Are you sure that you dropped the box down to 1 bedroom where it says "select how many bedrooms you are entitled to under LHA"
It's very unusual for your whole rent to be covered, although it does happen.
