DWP banks bill - would it mean an end to UC reviews?

I know this bill hasn’t gone through yet but I was just wondering that if it did would this lead to the UC reviews where we have to send bank statements ending? I’m thinking this may actually be less anxiety provoking though neither is ideal.

Hi @Hopeless hope you're doing ok today? Are you referring to the Banks Resolution (Recapitalisation) Bill? If so, I think this is unrelated. But refers to providing the Bank of England more flexibility when dealing with other Banks failures. Please let me know if I've misunderstood and you're referring to another bill.
Best wishes,

No, I’m thinking of the fraud bill where banks would be sending certain information to the dwp regularly

In some ways I can see how it would be less anxiety inducing than having to send the information yourself. But at least you then know your information is being given over. I have some issues with information being given to the DWP without my prior knowledge.

Yes, I can see that. It would be nice if they trusted us a bit more

It’s the fraud bill I was thinking of. Hasn’t gone through yet so won’t impact for a year or two probably even if it’s passed through parliament. It was just a wondering!

Hi @SM9346 unfortunately no one knows anything still. But as soon as information becomes available, we'll of course share it here.
