LCWRA PAYMENT CONCERN?
Hi any help would be greatly appreciated! :)
I put in a fit note on October 17th 2024, it says it has been back dated to the 1st of October so would my assessment period start from the beginning of the month?
I have been awarded LCWRA on the 24th of January. Will I be paid in February?
My payment date is the 13th of every month. So my next payment will be February 13th 2025.
I also revive universal credit. No TP.

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods and the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. First payment is then paid at the end of that month. It's not paid at all during that period.
Your assessment periods are not what you think they are. The first day of this would be the date you submitted your claim for UC and they last for 1 month, each month. Your payment date is 13th of the month, which means your assessment period dates are 7th to 6th of every month.
You provided your first fit note on 17th October and this is the date they will go from and not from 1st October, which is was backdated to because they don't accept backdated fit notes when working out the waiting period.
For this reason assessment period 7th October to 6th November doesn't count because you provided your first fit note in the middle of that month.
Therefore your waiting period will be Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan, Jan/Feb… LCWRA starts from 7th Feb to 6th March and first payment will be 13th March. No LCWRA element is owed.
If you're UC includes Transitional Protection then this will erode when the LCWRA element is included.
If you're claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim then you will not be entitled to any extra money.

Okay thank you for clearing that up for me, I just wasn’t too sure on how it worked.
I was under the illusion that it’s 3 months from the date you put in your fit note.
Again thank you I appreciate your help :)

Yes, it's 3 full assessment periods from the date you provide your first fit note. You did that on 17th October and the date on it is irrelevant. To be clear you must have also continued to provide fit notes the whole time, without any gaps until the decision was made. Any fit notes that were backdated are not usually accepted.
