PIP Review - Medical Information

Hello Everyone,
My PiP review letter had come today and I have new medical letters proving my new illnessess and the existing illnesses worseing. I have been claiming PIP for last 6 years and last 2 times have sent lots of documents. Would advise me to only send the new ones or send the old and new documents together? Thanks in advance

Hi @james19o6, sorry this wasn't answered already!
In general it's best to treat a review like a brand new application. It will go in front of an decision maker that has likely never looked at your case or history before they are assigned to deal with your review. That said, I would send the newer documentation as they will better describe how you are affected now, which is what the decision maker is deciding upon, not how you were at your last reviews. So send your most up to date documentation, and fill in the form like it is a new application.

Perfect thanks. To confirm would you recommend me only to send the new ones or shall I send the new one with the old ones together?

All claims should be treated as a new claim and you should give as much relevant information as possible.
What I’d advise you to do is look through all of the evidence you have to see what information is included. Sending multiple pieces of evidence all saying the same thing isn’t helpful. Less is very often more.

Thanks Poppy. Thats what I thought but was unsure as I am a cancer patient and my medical information go 10 years back plus the new ones hence was unsure. But as you said if they repeat then i'll not include them. Thanks again

Hi Poppy, also to check when I feel the form it sat example of what not to send a supporting letter from GP. As Hospitals dont always send me consultation notes the GP has always written letter about my medical update and these are what I put it down for my PIP but it seems like its the first time I saw this? Is this correct because GP is my strongest evidence at this moment?

What I did was resend my original evidence, up to date evidence of prescription drugs. I answered no change for all scoring descriptors to match my original form as same descriptors still apply, but "also" added a brief bit of description why I match those descriptors, not just ticking no change by it self without information, I didnt over complicate the descriptions, kept it simple. I added more info in the large box at the end to provide substance to what I put in the descriptor boxes. But I only provided information relevant to descriptors not my entire medical history, so I wouldnt over load them.

The review form has changed now. You can see the new review form here.
The previous review form asked if there had been any changes and what those changes were. It made it too easy for many people to just put no change and no further information.1 -
Letters from a GP are never the best evidence to send because they don’t spend any time with you to know how you manage the PIP activities. They don’t see you wash, dress, undress, cook, engage with others etc. if they know it’s because you told them and then it becomes hearsay.

Thanks Poppy, I did send a couple hospital consulations notes plus the gp medical letter, also I have 2 carers so have sent both of their supporting letter. Hope that it will be accepted.
