Yes Pension Credit is means tested.

You can fill out the calculator to do a estimate (put a date of birth in a few years before yours, so your details show as already getting the state pension).

Yes, Pension Credit is means tested. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on your circumstances. If you live with a partner that's younger than you then you will not be able to claim it as you're treated as a mixed aged couple.

There's a Pension Credit Calculator here, when you use it please make sure you put your age as state pension or above. If you put it as below this then it will not calculate it for you.

You need to fill in the calculator as though you are already state pension age. So no ESA as that's a working age benefit.

oh thanks a lot I’m with a friend who is also calculating her PC and he’s say £197 per week surely this can’t be correct

It will depend on circumstances. If you're a single person and your pension is more than £218.15/week there would be no entitlement. However PC entitlement can increase if you're entitled to Severe disability Premium (known as Severe disability Addition in PC) as well as underlying entitlements to carers allowance.

Do you claim a disability benefit such as PIP/ADP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care? Or registered blind? If so do you live alone, no other adults?

If you live with other adults do they also claim one of those disability benefits their self or registered blind.

If so and no one claims either carers allowance or carers element of Universal Credit for looking after you then you'll be entitled to SDP (SDA in Pension Credit) this would mean your maximum weekly income threshold would increase, which is likely to mean there's some entitlement to PC.

I claim adp and I live alone ,what is sdp ,sda

If that ADP includes the daily living part and no one claims carers allowance (CA) or carers element (CE) then you'll be entitled to that. SDP is Severe disability Premium paid to those that live alone or treated as living alone, if they are claiming certain means tested benefits. SDA = Severe disability Addition.. it's the same as SDP but known as this when claiming PC.

Is your current ESA Income Related? If it is then you should be claiming SDP now. Unless someone claims either CA or CE for looking after you.

You’re welcome. This would be £81.50/week paid in with your ESA. The decision to award going forward should be quite quick.

If you didn’t ask them to look at backdating it to when you became entitled to it then you should do that.
