Thank you ๐
My son nagged me into getting a dog 6 years ago. I resisted for over a year but eventually gave in. I'm so glad I did! She makes us laugh every day, she's so loving and I'll admit we're more than a little co-dependent at this point.
I know I'm lucky that my daughter does all the walks feeding etc
I agree 100% that people with disabilities should not be discriminated against for having a pet. One thing that really hit me when we got the dog was just how comforting the warmth of another living thing cuddling up was. I regularly hug my adult children, but I've been happily single for over 15 years at this point and don't see that changing. I had no idea how much I was missing that kind of contact. We all deserve the kind of unconditional love that pets give.

Sounds like we both got lucky ๐ Yeah I was afraid too, because there's always that chance you won't bond with them for whatever reason. I couldn't have coped with that.
