Hello, bear with me so I try and explain the situation. My partner is currently receiving PIP which is due to end in October. She has received a text message this week to say she is being sent her review form so that can asses if she is still entitled to PIP. As it was a couple of years ago that she originally was awarded PIP, she thought it would be a good idea to get a copy of her original application form. So she called DWP today and asked them for it, they then told her that they never received an application form in the first place, and basically had awarded her PIP from her telephone assessment and that she had a "special marker" on her account that she would have been awarded PIP anyway. Is this normal? ( they are going to send the assessor write up / report so we have something just to refer back to. We are just worried in the current climate. I also receive PIP and so does our daughter so we heavily rely on PIP to enable us to manage our disabilities.

Hi @Martin2019, That's an odd situation, I haven't heard about this happening before myself, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen! How did she originally apply for PIP?

Hopefully one of our members might have experience of this and be able to share some insights.

Photocopy every application form and covering evidence before posting.

Yup, when someone has a vulnerable marker on file they can proceed with the claim, without returning the form. Although for others reading this, this a vulnerable marker doesn't automatically entitle you to a PIP award.
