Any money owed is usually received before the letter. Payment usually goes into your bank between 3-5 working days after payment was sent. Your letter can take up to 2 weeks.
You can ring PIP to ask what you've been awarded and also ask when to expect any money owed into your bank and they will tell you.
Your first 4 weekly payment will be about 4 weeks later.

Thanks. I rang PIP and automated message told me what I'll be getting on 6th March which I presume is my regular monthly payment. Nothing said about backpay. So, thank you.

The automated payment line often gives incorrect information so you shouldn't rely on that. It also won't include any money that's owed to you.

I received my backpay this morning. Not a huge amount but every little helps! I only applied late November, so it hasnt taken long from start to finish to be fair. Thank you
