UC following bereavement

Hello just looking for some advice. My husband passed away in January. We had a joint universal claim. I was informed by Uc that they would continue to pay as a joint claim still until April.
I have l LCWRA and we were paid carers element. My husband had state pension and I have two small work pensions which were deducted from our joint claim. ( I do not get my state pension until July)
I received my statement today and they have deducted my husbands pension which I no longer receive This deduction had also increased by £100 for no apparent reason Is that usual for the pension payment to continue to be deducted after it stops being paid I have posted on my journal but they are not always quick to reply

Sorry for long post and thank you for reading

Hi @Loobylou22, I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope you're doing as well as possible in the circumstances.

How long ago did you stop receiving your husbands pension? Depending on where your assessment period falls it might be that the last pension payment was caught in your last assessment period so it has been adjusted for despite you not receiving it this month. I can't say for certain though, I hope some of our members might be able to share some advice and experiences too.

I hope you can get things cleared up quickly and without too much stress.

Thank you for your kind words.
My husband passed on 15 th Jan and no pension was received after this date. The assessment date was from 13 th Jan to 12th Feb. It looks like they have taken a whole month into account even though there was no pension received during that time. What really puzzled me was the fact that they also increased the pension amount by £100 for some strange reason.
who knows how they work these things out. 🫣

just for a bit more context. Did get a reply from UC. They calculated pension higher than he was actually receiving by almost £20 per week last month where as previous months it was the correct deduction so don’t know where the higher figure came from as it wasn’t what was being paid. There was only one payment made during the assessment period too. Hope that makes sense.
