Difficulty typing

Does anyone else struggle to type on this site? I have no problems on other forums. Alot of double posting of letters, and very often double posting words. I therefore take ages to complete a message.

Also, @name doesn't ever work for me. Very strange.

Hi @Ranald. Thanks for raising these issues and sorry if it makes using the community frustrating. I'm not sure about the double posting of letters or words, but there is a known bug with the tagging system when you type @.

Sometimes it just takes a few tries to get the @ to work and eventually it will come up, I'm not sure if that's something that happens with you. Unfortunately the problem lies with our platform rather than anything we have any control over, but we have been pushing for a fix.

Are you using a computer or do you use the community on a mobile device?

I keep forgetting to use dictation on my phone/computer which works pretty well, and saves on the typing
Sometimes browser settings can affect websites.. So it might be worth looking at that or any plugins..

I have that same issue on my tablet, doubling words no @ working, posts half posting, so I have to use my phone as it's ok with that

I have had the same issue on an old Android phone, though I struggle to type on touchscreens anyway. I now only ever access this site using my laptop where there are no problems with typing. I do believe this issue is specific to the 'mobile' view.

Very primitive explanation, sorry☺️

The forum consists of a database and the actual program that performs the functions of the forum (like database.doc and Word.exe). All this is located on an external computer on the Internet, called hosting. You can simply be an intermediary user, performing the functions of moderators, as in FB, or you can be the sole owner of both hosting and the forum program with a database.
