Hey @Kimi87
It’s nearly been 4 weeks since I was awarded LCWRA and I haven’t yet received any information about my back pay. Do you think it’s worth while writing something on my online UC journal or shall I wait? I know you mentioned that the back pay decision / info can take several weeks. Thank you

It's up to you whether you want to chase them.
My advice was several weeks at least, so I don't think it's anything to worry about that you haven't received it yet.

Thank you- if I haven’t heard in another two weeks I’ll get in touch with them. I’m just unsure on the average time is takes to get this sorted

Hi @Kimi87
I’ve just checked on my journal and I’ve received a letter stating about my back pay. However, I’m a little confused as I expected to be paid more than I will be. I was expecting around £10,000 and I’ve been paid near £8,000. I’ve attached my letter to show you- please can you let me know if it looks right/wrong?
When I go onto my payments section in my journal is also states that I was paid LCWRA element for months that I wasn’t that they seem to have updated? I’ve been paid LCWRA this month and that’s it but they’ve changed my payments / amounts to include LCWRA for the past year and a half.I’m happy to provide additional info so please let me know if you need any. Thank you again for your help!

When backpay is calculated, previous statements are revised to show new entitlement. The backpay now counts as receiving LCWRA for those months. This is normal.
As previously advised LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is payable. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
Often the Assessment Period in which the first Fit Note is handed in is excluded, depending on dates.
So following a Fit Note, a waiting period often looks something like:
AP 1 Fit Note submitted, excluded from waiting period.
AP 2,3,4 waiting period
AP 5 eligible for payment.

Thank you for that information- so it seems that I thought I’d be entitled to the money from A1-A5 (which is roughly around £2,500) but I’m not so that is why I am paid less than I thought I was going to be. Do you think my statement letter for the back pay looks accurate / the right amount? I was just getting a little confused with it all

Yes I think you have expected to be paid from the start date of your first Fit Note, which isn't correct due to the waiting period.
I'm not a trained benefits advisor and I very rarely answer financial questions involving figures.
If you want to be sure the payment is correct local welfare rights can assist:
Unfortunately at the time of posting the postcode checker isn't working.
