I'm afraid that the migration won't be stopped now at this point.

Would you benefit from having someone you trust to act as your appointee?

If set up now on your ESA claim, when you get your migration notice they can handle the UC application for you.

You can claim UC by phone, this means you wouldn't have access to the Journal (online account) and would need to ring to communicate with them and wait for statements to arrive in the post.

You write very well on Scope, is it lack of confidence rather than lack of ability with online communication?

I know quite a few here have used the CAB service so hopefully they can explain how it works πŸ™‚

Im not entirely sure, perhaps contact your local one via the chat function or call them & ask them what you need to do. Or if you have a local dial group they are quite helpful.

Hello, I have worked for the CAB, helping people with their benefits claims. Phone up your local branch and request a home visit. Someone on the home visiting team will call you (email if you prefer) and book you in for a visit. They will go through the form with you, help you explain what it is you want to say, and write it all up on the form for you. They can also act as your representative, should you have to go down the Mandatory Reconsideration and/or Appeal route. I hope this helps you.

An appointee can be someone you know and trust, someone you choose yourself like a friend or family member 😊

Doesn't have to be anyone "official".

Poppy for example acts as her daughter's appointee.

If I needed one there is a friend I'd consider asking, or a cousin.

Yes you are right, you have to have a visit to set it up.

Would you find that too difficult even with your trusted person present?

If you could manage that one visit, you wouldn't have to worry so much about your UC migration, because your appointee would be able to do it for you.

Honestly I can't tell you the fear I have of them I know logically would be better as my poor daughter does so much for me but I just couldn't be anywhere near them

Your Daughter can still help you unofficially with the application etc, and you have us on the forum to ask questions plus the Citizens Advice service.

    You are not alone 😊
