Occ health assessment has set me back mentally
hi I have been asked by my workplace if I wanted to consider ill health retirement. I have suffered with depression and anxiety for 25 plus years and have had periods of sick leave. I’ve worked for current employer for 22nyears. I lost my son to suicide 4 months ago and my mental health has deteriorated substantially. The occ health gp has basically said that I don’t fit the criteria as I am still having ongoing counselling and my meds have been changed so my MH may improve! I feel that I haven’t been listened to and want them to look inside me to see the utter devastation that is ME and I cannot see how they would know that I may improve. I got so low after the phone call and didn’t know where to turn that I called the samaritans and spoke to a lovely lady for 30 mins in an attempt to help me. I feel now that I have to literally bear my entire soul to employers in an attempt for them to see the truth about my mental state. Sorry for going on, I have a question that does anyone have any insight into the process at all please
