Jigsaws

Ģood morning!
I just wanted to give a shout out for jigsaws! For those of you who have worries on your minds and are able to do jigsaws, they are the best thing ever for mindfulness.
You can listen to the radio or a podcast, audio book etc at the same time and, once you get right into your jigsaw, they are so absorbing and hours fly by.
I like the 1000 bit ones if there's lots of detail (not big patches of sky, grass and trees!)
And 500 bit ones i can do a bit of sky.
At the moment, i'm hooked on the "curious cupboards" series. They are an older set so i'm turning to ebay to get them second hand.
So far i have done Christmas Cupboard, Kitchen Cupboard, Gardeners Cupboard and Inventors Cupboard.
I really want Craft Cupboard but the cheapest i can find that is 30 quid.
If anyone has it and wants a swap for one of my cupboard jigsaws, message me please!
Happy puzzling!

I've always loved doing jigsaw puzzles. Thanks for the reminder to get one out and get busy!
They are very relaxing as you say, fully absorbing and therapeutic.

I used to be into jigsaws, but have no room for a decent size table. Years ago I found a game site that has them, along with other games. Someone on here posted a link for a jigsaw site a good while ago & there are all sorts on it, here's the link…
I haven't joined, but if you wanted to, you can join & make up jigsaws for others to do.1 -
I love jigsaws but also have no room for a big table - I found a foldable jigsaw table to be the answer. When not in use it collapses and fits under the settee

That was likely me @JessieJ - I've been using Jigidi since I got my mischievous cat, Shadow & thought it wise to give up doing ordinary jigsaws as I'd probably lose some pieces! If you join Jigidi you can bookmark any jigsaws to save for later, & it's completely free.

Wow! That site is great! (Must see if my curious cupboards are there🤣)
I am lucky in having a big table but not so lucky in that it's our main dining table so i have a big jigsaw case and do my puzzles in that on the table. Then i need to lift it off the table at meal times.
We have 2 cats and they are both an absolute nightmare with jigsaws. They either go to sleep in the jigsaw case, else walk across loose pieces which stick to their paws and end up elsewhere in the house!
My daughter's the lucky one - no cats and a whole spare room to do jigsaws in (she is an illustrator and has designed 2 jigsaws - one cat one - to sell)
She is much better at jigsaws than me as she organises her pieces at the start. Thinks nothing of doing 2000 bits or even 9000 bits (once)
My abilities don't stretch that far and i take a chaotic approach but works for me!
Glad there are some fellow puzzlers here🙂

I have looked at jigsaw tables, @Hopeless, nowhere to store it though, not that I could reach, but thanks.
Aha, it probably was you then, @chiarieds, so glad you did & thanks to Shadow. I like the fact you can pick the size & subject on there. Plus, it takes up no room. 🤪 Hello BTW, glad you popped back on. 🙋♀️
@anisty & now we know who led us to it! Even online, I do the edges first. 😆 Your daughter is certainly into them & lucky to have a room to leave it to pop back to.

Here's my most recent cupboard jigsaw

Well done, must have taken some time to complete. @anisty

About 2 weeks a bit at a time @Bluebell21 but SO enjoyable to do as so much detail. Much more rewarding than shape matching large areas of blue or green🤣

I am hocked on WASGIJ. I have done about 30 so far. I get most of them from charity shops or I wouldn't afford to eat. They take quite some time to complete as you do not know the finished picture, you have to look at the picture then do the puzzle accordingly. So you have to imagine what will happen next or what someone in the picture can see. They are challenging but I feel I have done something worthwhile.

Oh i know the puzzles you mean! They look super tricky!! I have never done one of those before.

Have a go, I find them to be wonderful. I feel sure you will enjoy them.😊

There is a series of puzzles i do like where the picture on the box differs from the pic on the made-up jigsaw and you solve clues when it's all done.
I can't remember what they're called but they are Ravensburger too.
I tend to stick to Ravensburger and Gibson. I used to get my jigsaws from charity shops but stopped after a run of bad luck with missing bits!
But our library has a jigsaw swap so you take one from them and replace with one of yours. They seem to be complete - probably donated by dedicated puzzlers rather than folks clearing out their junk🤣
