Do you currently receive Housing Benefit?
If the answer is yes then that won't trigger a move to UC.
Letters to migrate over to UC are going out from now up until December.

also i have heard if you get sdp you will not be better off??

Only those on ESA without the SDP end up better off as UC LCWRA pays more than ESA SG.
With managed migration (receiving a letter) the UC award would be topped up by Transitional Protection. TP is designed to ensure at the time of transfer, you aren't worse off than on legacy benefits. TP does erode over time as other elements go up or you become entitled to new elements.
With natural migration (a change of circumstances which necessitates a UC claim, without a letter) then you do lose the SDP amount from your UC award.

You asked yesterday if a move under your circumstances would trigger a move to UC.
I said if you get Housing Benefit already, the answer is no.
You later confirmed you did get HB, so I had indeed answered your question on my first reply in this thread 🙂

I appreciate your thanks.
There wasn't enough information given in the opening post for me to simply answer yes or no.
Which is why my reply read:
Do you currently receive Housing Benefit?
If the answer is yes then that won't trigger a move to UC.
Struggling to see how I could have answered any differently.
I'll graciously withdraw from replying further and I wish you luck in your new home.
