Hi. Can assessers for disabled persons adaptations due to disability be refused because the assessor can sit on a bath seat across the bath but Is insisting the disabled person can do it too if they can . Would this be generalised assumption and is this disability discrimination.

    Hi @Toffopooch1,

Most assessors should be taking into account how your conditions affect you personally and shouldn't be making decisions based on their own experiences. If you feel that they haven't taken your conditions into account properly, you can make a complaint to the service.

What kind of assessment was this for?

Assessors should be using all of their experience to make a judgement. But they definitely shouldn't be implying that another person must be affected in the same way as they are. I agree that a complaint is probably worth pursuing in this case.
