Morning

Just had a notification to look at our journal & there is a message saying other benefits affecting your UC, it says about some other benefits effect amount you get & our records show you get in my case Carers Allowance, & what to do if you think this is wrong which its not & then lists a load of others that can also effect & says if get any other to let them know you get UC to update there records.

Do we need to do anything or just ignore as we are getting what they said & it looks like a automated message?

Thanks in advance

Yes they are automated messages and no you don't need to do anything. I always ignore mine as there is nothing for me to do!

Mine always get sent around 2:30am.

I'd hope it was automated at that time @stressed76. Although either way, not ideal having the system sending messages throughout the night really. Hopefully it didn't wake you!

Hi, if you get Carer's allowance you may not have to look for for work on UC and may qualify for an additional payment called carer's element. See info below:

The carer's element is an extra amount of Universal Credit (UC) that you may receive if you care for a disabled person. You may qualify for the carer's element even if you earn more than the Carer's Allowance (CA) limit.
    Eligibility
You are at least 16 years old
You provide at least 35 hours of care per week
You care for someone who receives a qualifying disability benefit
You are not in full-time education
You meet certain immigration status and length of stay in the UK tests
No one else is claiming as a carer for the same person
    How it works
The carer's element is an additional payment to your regular UC payment
Your income and savings could affect the total amount of UC you receive
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) adds up all the elements you are entitled to, then deducts your income from that total
    Applying
You can call the Universal Credit team on 0800 328 9344 to see if you're eligible.
