REASSESSMENT PERIODS ON UNIVERSAL CREDIT

Hi. I have just received my letter for transferring to Universal Credit. I am on the support group of ESA and have severe anxiety/depression issues and chronic insomnia. Can anyone tell me how often the LCWRA group of Universal Credit conducts assessments? Ie roughly, I know no-one can give definite answers but estimates? Just wondering as could not handle being assessed every six months or something like that.

I have not been reassessed since 2019.

Oh really? Is that because of the severity of your condition do you know? They must be really behind if you have not been assessed because of the backlog.

That is possible I had not long been out of a psychiatric unit when I was assessed and it was stated that I am vulnerable.
However I think the reason is more likely backlogs.
Even so I worry about it all the time.

It varies from individual to individual with UC LCWRA as it did with ESA SG.
Reassessments for LCWRA have been suspended for quite a few years now, with only a very few taking place.
As a result significant backlogs exist within the system.

Thank you for your reply. I am coming up to 63 so am hoping by the time I'm assessed it will only a few years from pension age and not so stressful.

I'm sorry that you are worried. The backlogs sound like you won't be reassessed for a while. But having severe depression/anxiety myself, I understand how horrible it is to worry.
