Probably not full rent but it would depend what benefits you claim

Which benefit exactly do you receive please?

Do you live with a partner, do they recieve any benefits?

Heya @Roxy55 and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear your son's split up with his gf, I hope he's doing ok.

As Kimmy has already asked the questions needed, I'll let you two get on with things. I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. 😊

If your PIP includes Daily Living then no deduction will be made to your Housing Benefit. You will get as much rent paid for when he moves in, as you do now.

You will lose your single person's Council Tax Discount.

You would have to contact your local authority to update them when he moves in, for them to recalculate your claim.

All councils run a different scheme for Council Tax Reduction so we can't advise on individual cases from here.

If you are currently living alone and receiving income-related benefits, it is likely your ESA contains SDP. If this is the case, this will stop when your son moves in, unless he is also receiving DLA or PIP @Roxy55.
