Do I need to tell Student Finance about PIP?

Hi everyone, late last year after an arduous few months I was awarded PIP for my illness and disability.
I am a university graduate and have outstanding student loans hanging over my head. When I stopped working I remember updating my details to say I was no longer working- now that I am receiving a benefit do I need to report it to them?
I am unable to work, and do not receive any other financial help.
I cant get my head around the guidelines on the direct gov website, and the student loans website is currently down. Any help would be appreciated as dealing with student finance is incredibly stressful and energy consuming for me with a fatigue based condition!

hi there and welcome to the community I would be doubtful that you do but I would just to be on the safe side. I did when claiming Acers to Work
I would recommend that you visit the coffee lounge for a chat and the games den for some fun. However the benefits section can be really helpful

Hey there @Celica and welcome from me too!
Ii agree it's all very confusing and a bit of a minefield. Student loans can be written off if you can show you're permanently unfit for work. There's some information on the gov website that may help.1 -
Thank-you for your reply, I'm going to try again tomorrow and see if I can get on the website and take it from there :)
