Non Alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

Just been diagnosed with NAFLD, and I'm terrified, on top of all my other conditions. I've had horrific pain non stop with severe nausea for two years, had scope test to check my Gerd and see if I'd ulcers, cancer, h pylori gastritis etc then had a scan. That's how they found the fattiness in my liver, still to have more bloods and other tests. Consultant says pain not in liver, but the gerd, now I've had gerd 30 years, never had that constant pain. He didn't say what degree my nafld is at nor what to do.
So, I've cut out every thing I can see that might contribute and I'm losing weight, eating more healthy and doing my best to move around more ,which isn't easy when you need a knee replacement plus are fatigued constantly. I need to get two stone off,I've read that 10% of bodyweight loss is a great help but I want more off. I don't want this leading to more serious matters like stroke, diabetes or heart attack,as I already have two heart conditions.
Anyone else have it?
I wish my consultant, lovely as he is was a bit more forthcoming with info. I'd to find it all out myself.

Hi @Doglover2 I am so sorry you have been diagnosed with another condition when you already have enough to put up with.
I have several digestive issues although not NAFLD and have to be very careful what I eat. My Consultant advised no coffee and no alcohol. I tend to eat small meals several times a day and nothing after 6.00pm. Perhaps keep a food diary so you have a record of what you eat each day and see if there is a pattern of certain food making your condition worse.

@Bluebell21 I don't drink, smoke and I've been vegetarian and vegan 40 years. Maybe I've been too strict with myself.
There's no one food that aggravates my stomach.
I can eat and be in pain or not eat and its the same. The pain sits right at the top of my stomach. I have ibs too, also decades long, but it's lower gut pain. I do three small meals, nothing in between.
The NAFLD also gives me very strange sensations in my arms and chest, real odd creepy feelings and v itchy back. The odd symptoms have been investigated incase it was my heart conditions but it wasn't.
There is so much to it that you don't realise until you research it.
Now I've got 13 conditions. I could honestly do without it.
Least I've allowed plant based foods and oat milk.
But even then I'm careful.
I did the wrong thing for years of not eating breakfast, and my sleeping pattern is woefully inadequate because of depression and crippling anxiety, which also contributes to the condition.
So, in reality, I'm to blame.
Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. X

Hello @Bluebell21
Thanks for the reply.
I dont drink or smoke, I've been vegetarian and vegan for decades. I eat three small meals per day,no snacking .Maybe i was too strict. The horrible thing is the odd sensations in my upper arms and chest, and v itchy back. They were investigated incase it was my heart conditions but it's not.I might also be coeliac, so that's to be looked at again plus another H pylori test to be done and various other bloods. I dont get the constant pain top of my stomach.
I can't see how it's the Gerd doing it. I've had that thirty years and it's been woefully bad that I ended up in hospital a number of years back , but this pain is ridiculous. I only eat three small meals per day,no snacking. Coffee is meant to be helpful with fatty liver disease believe it or not,esp if taken with any plant based "milk". No sugar ,I dont take sugar anyway, it's a killer for fatty liver.
Take care x
