UC Review Advice

Hi All,

This is my first post here, so hi to all you lovely people.

At the end of Feb 2025, we got a journal message to say that our payments are going to be reviewed to make sure they are correct.

we had a call with a nice adviser on Friday, and she has given me and partner 2 weeks to upload ID and 4 months bank statements.

I have gathered all of my current account statements with no problem. I have 2 and have been able to download the last 4 months' worth. My savings account has £800 for emergencies, but the statement is only able to be produced annually and is not due to be produced until 19/03/2025.

So now I am worried sick when I have my hands full caring for my partner who has severe brain injury and needs 24-hour care. I had to give up work in 2020 due to this.

I am worried about how can I provide something that hasn't been produced. I contacted the bank, and they have given me a print off of transactions but it only has my name and account details on it and the last few months' transactions.

We don't have over the £6k allowance, and the only income we have is UC, PIP, and Carers allowance.

I am literally not sleeping because I'm worried that if I can't give it them in the exact format, they will stop our mone,y and we will be left to fend for ourselves.

I am sorry to bother you, but I have nowhere else to turn. so if anyone has been in this situation, I would appreciate some advice.

Thank you in advance

Peter

I also had an annual statement on an account not due for ages. I explained this on the Journal, what I ended up supplying was the last statement and a screen print of the last 4 months of transactions.

In your case I'd recommend telling them you won't have a statement for that account until 19/3, they probably can extend the deadline.

Hey @petert1493 and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear this is causing you so much undue stress, I've been there myself and it did all feel like a race against the clock with the bank holding me back.
As Kimmy has said, you can explain on your journal that you're having issues getting the formal bank statements. They allowed me to bring a current print out, then screenshots from my online account. So you should be ok. 😊
