I know that sounds like a huge area of concern but the whole infrastructure is broken.

• The Government lacks any form of understanding on the cost of living for someone with multiple health problems and costly needs.
• The Social Workers don't believe your day to costs and when you tell them I live in an area with no Gas supply they say "I find that hard to believe"!
• Then care companies have no interest in anything that the carers do down to you falling and wetting myself and the carer ignoring you and leaving you lying on the floor and when you say something they respond with "Its your word against mine"!

The experiences I have had would make peoples hair curl. When you challenge what has happened they gaslight you and threaten to leave you without care. The government bury their heads and take more money off you. Leaving you no money to pay for essentials like fundamental items for your disability and heating.

Hi @booklover it sounds like you've had some awful experiences. I'm really sorry you've been put through this but appreciate you sharing this. Have you gone outside of the care company to complain? If not, the social care ombudsman may be a good place to start - Home - Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman. Are you still in the same situation or have you moved away from this care giver now?

@booklover I'm just so very sorry you've gone through this, it's heartbreaking to hear. I hope you're not with the same caregiver. If you are, do you have any family who can help advocate for/with you. Or ring the Care Quality Commission to ask for an urgent/unannounced 'spot check' to be done (can do anonymously but tell them your room number). Take care.

Hi, I was just on a moan really I've tried complaining to all and sundry. It never works you cant prove it your word against mine. You can't record visits or they kick you of the books. They continue to gaslight. Tried to find ways to be as self sufficient as possible.

It was just a moan last night.
