Feeling down

i thought I had been doing so much better with everything, I lost some weight, it’s a little up this morning, I am exercising better, I am doing more with my mental health. My diabetes blood glucose check is slughtly elevated at 7.5mmol this morning. I didn’t eat well yesterday so get why it’s up. I am doing some courses, my results have been reasonably good, but my last assignments have been 100%, 95% and 95%, my mum (yes I know, at my age it shouldn’t matter but she’s spiteful) wasn’t happy with the outcome of the 2nd one and expects me to pull 100% (this last one was Shakespeare which is something I used to love). I am worried about the outcome of PIP and ESA , in the last 2 years I have tried ti get back into work but I can’t keep it going without my pain getting too high and I had a mental breaKdown last time I worked.
sorry to carp on, I feel so down.

Hi @mangoelderberry23 I am so sorry your are having a difficult time at the moment. I think your results are brilliant. No one can get 100% all the time. Losing weight and exercising more is also really good.

Could you perhaps try some voluntary part time work and see how you got on with that. What kind of work would you like to do if you could?

Are you able to go out and meet people? Your local council should have a list of activities in your area.

Have a look around and join in it might help to take your mind off things.

    Take care.

Hi @Bluebell121. Thank you for your kind words. I have recently put myself forward for some research into mental health. I will start that in April. At the moment my confidence is so low I don’t feel capable of supporting anything well.

I am going to start looking more intently now though

Hi @mangoelderberry23 It sounds very interesting that you have put yourself forward for some research into mental health. It would be lovely to hear how you get on.

Perhaps see how you get on with that first then look more intently for something else.

    Good luck.
