Labour.

I was wondering what people felt about Labour now, because when I posted about the petition on Labour a couple of months ago. People said We should give Labour a chance. They have continually let the vulnerable down and continue to do so. Is this really the Labour we wanted in power; when the Winter Fuel was able to go through, they were untouchable. I think none of us believed the system could continue the way it has been but changes need to be done round the the table with organisations like Scope and Turn2US who are invested in the Welfare of the Chronically Sick and Disabled and Vulnerable. MP’s and Whitehall Civil Servants don’t have a clue. Unfortunately changes are coming and because the government want to recover at least six billion pounds of savings these new changes will more than likely be introduced this year and 2026.

We want know until next week what the actual changes will be it is insurmountable that they have left us all dangling in an emotional whirlpool struggling with anxiety, depression and feelings of worthlessness. Is this truly the New socialism, I think bygone socialist will be turning in their graves.

I hope we all sign the petition that Scope have compiled and write to our MP’s letting them know the impact of changes to our benefits will have on us all.

    I never voted for them.

They are destroying our country and punishing the poorest and most vulnerable in society.

    They are an utter disgrace.

Vile lying scumbag , in his reply to my email during the election campaign he said disabled people should be treated with dignity and respect. That's why I voted for him, I was sick of the tories attitude toward us. But he is worse. Wouldn't be surprised they opened up the workhouses again. He getting all freebies , they getting heating paid while we suffer including pensioners. The same is with those two witches , reeves and kendell. So we have to pay for reeves budget. So they send money abroad while we suffer.

II'm not sleeping, I'm scared that not able to pay the bills, I know I rather starve than let my pets go they are while I'm here. Antidepressants don't even cover what despair I'm feeling because of them. No wonder assisted dying is brought forward.

Andi66, and everyone feeling despair at the moment don’t forget we are survivors, they can take us back to the bleak days for the disabled and chronically sick we survived then and we will struggle but they want get rid of us. We are worthy and have a place in this world, we are gifted in adapting to the most difficult situations. I’m just hoping the changes want be as drastic as the Prime Minister would have us believe.

It's definitely on many of our minds right now. We're having a big discussion about it, which you can read here: Upcoming changes to benefits.

At the moment, no formal announcements have been made, so no one knows for certain what the changes will be or how they’ll be implemented. However, we're actively campaigning and raising awareness through The Cost of Cuts, and we’d really appreciate your support and signature.

We understand this is a difficult topic, and many people are finding it challenging. To keep the community a safe space, we're encouraging all discussions on benefit changes to stay in one place. For that reason, we’ll be closing this discussion, but we’d love for you to join the main discussion thread here: Upcoming changes to benefits.

I'm disillusioned with Labour. They've strayed too far from thier roots and gone the other way.

To think what Labour did in the past,Nye Bevan created the NHS, so that healthcare is accessible to everyone and it was Clement Attlee who set up the welfare state. Labour in the past, wanted to help the underdog and now we have a version of Labour, who is now a carbon copy of the Tories.

14 years of demonisation of disabled people by the Tories and them helping themselves to public money, instead of using it to help the underdog. It's still going on in a Labour government.
