Pip assessment

hi need some advice again my partner had a assessment in January but they cancelled the assessment due to me not being down as a representative when I was but some how I wasn’t was told the assessment would be rescheduled yesterday out of nowhere I had a phone call of capita saying we’re doing a paper based assessment just need to ask some question she only asked when he was having surgery and I said today (unfortunately it was cancelled due to a emergency but only got the call 2 hours after pip phoned) she asked what the surgery was for told her lung reduction and lung valves and how often he uses the oxygen which I replied 10 hours a day and that was it today received a text off pip saying we’ve received your report just confused how this happened no letter to state they was calling never even heard of a paper assessment the only thing I did in February was send them extra information off the hospital regarding the oxygen and a report off respiratory saying how he only walked a few steps and he was extremely out of breath and stats dropped to 83 and they how they requested urgent oxygen assessment now he’s worried he’s gonna be rejected as he’s had no face to face assessment just paper based any help would be appreciated thanks

Hey there @worrier I'd not be panicking, this does happen sometimes. Paper based assessments just mean that they feel they've got all of the information needed to make a decision, so the calls do tend to be out of the blue annoyingly. I've had them myself and they scared the bejesus out of me! Often paper based assessments end up having a good outcome, so I'd try not to worry too much. 😁
