Found out I am having my steps on my 2 decks redone

Found out I am having my steps on my decks redone, both front ones and rear ones being done for free. A friend of mine, she told a local contractor that likes to give back to disabled people about me. I have not been happy with them tripping at times and he saw problems. Seen the treads were at different lengths with the deck boards sticking out a little bit. Plus the hand rails too which are a little too low for me. The guy was nice to me finding out I lost my left leg below the knee thanking me for my service in the USMC. He was also glad I have faced the challenges beating them seeing I wear a prosthetic leg. Found out he is going to make the deck boards flush so I do not trip anymore and the treads equal length. The hand rails are being redone as well. Coming out tomorrow to do it. Said the materials used he gets are donated to him.

May you enjoy your new steps and handrails in safety for many years.
Please also thank your contractor from me too - ex UK forces. Contractor is so generous with time and products.

He has seen the problems fixing them and I am not the only one. Mine, said the deck boards should not be sticking out with the toe part of my shoes and boots catching it. I tripped once and my prosthetic leg came out.I was lucky to have it still in getting it back in

Hi JackieLynn,
I hope you don't mind me asking but where do you live, the reason I'm asking is I'm looking for someone to fix my steps.
You can private message me if you prefer.
