FED UP

I’m so fed up. I’m in the middle of my 1st pip review, which already fills me with dread, while at the same time the news is covered in talks about cutting benefits and making it EVEN harder to get pip. Getting pip was hell and there is nothing easy about it, like literally when I applied for pip the hell they put me through had my body shutting down, to the point my body was no longer functioning. I’ve no idea how long I’ll be waiting for a reply to my pip review, it’s been 5 months already. I put so much trust in the Labour government thinking they’d do the right thing and they’ve chucked disabled people under the bus! It is so cruel. Like anyone disabled would have chosen to be, why punish us for trying to survive. Honestly I can’t even cope with the hell this government is putting us through. My body can’t cope with this level of stress! It feels like no one can help us.

Pip reviews can take ages now, mine took 6 months and that was 2022, there is a huge backlog. I know I had hope Labour would be different, especially as some of us emailed starmer during elections and he said we would be treated with dignity and respect.

@Andi66 yet we are made to feel like this, I’m beyond disappointed by their treatment towards us.
Waiting for the review feels like a lamb to the slaughter. Just horrible.

@LIVEDANDLEARNED I’m sorry that you’re feeling this way. You’re definitely not alone—many of us, including myself, feel the same anxiety. Unfortunately, all we can do is wait for the main official announcement in two weeks and see what comes of it.
I’m also currently in my first PIP review period (submitted my paperwork in September 2024), and I was very anxious since my award is set to end this month. However, I received a letter last week stating that my review isn’t complete yet, but they will extend my award for another year until it is finalised.
The hardest part is making sure all the paperwork and evidence are submitted on time, but as long as the delay is on their end, payments should not stop.i hope this gives you some assurance.

my pleasure @LIVEDANDLEARNED . I’m so glad I found this forum, as it’s the only place where I don’t feel discriminated against. You’re in the right place for support. Take care.
