U.c are making me so stressed out

Why am I so stressed out constantly by this stupid and ridiculous system.I have woken up.to a message on my journal asking to confirm how many bedrooms I have, who provides overnight care if at all.Why Am I receiving this? Would the dwp have told them I recently got pip award?.

Yes they might have been told about your PIP award.
The PIP award means in certain circumstances you are entitled for UC to pay for an extra bedroom.
So they are being proactive in checking whether this applies to you.

It is asking about an overnight carer etc.

But I do not have an overnight carer I have already told them all of thus before

Yes as you now get Daily Living PIP, if you receive regular and frequent overnight care and have a spare bedroom, UC would pay for that spare bedroom.

I am.so stressed out

If you don't get overnight care then that's what you answer. It really is very simple, that will be the end of the matter.

I was recently declared fit for work a few weeks ago, even though during their assessment they declined to accept my full autism diagnosis report in both paper and digital format when I offered it to them and it would appear that the UC sanctions regime is much stricter now - since my autism diagnosis in 2021, I’ve never had a post-diagnosis assessment so I don’t know what my support needs are - I tried working for a year but I had to leave my mutual agreement because it became too much and because the management had no experience in dealing with disability issues, but because it is mental health and hidden disability the DWP don’t care, because they think I’m “trying it on” - all the autism support, both public and private, is for children, not for adults diagnosed later in life and even private requires a GP referral where GP’s have no experience with mental health and hidden disabilities and are very unsympathetic - even autism nonprofit charities cannot provide support due to lack of funding, even though many things don’t require funding - and even with huge wastage and mismanagement in the NHS - it’s simply a case of their point-blank refusal to understand - if there was any jobs out there, with struggling businesses not being able to take on new people, employers simply don’t have the time nor inclination to be “hand-holding” sick and disabled people and rightly so, as what if a sick or disabled person with mental health issues has an “episode” at work, what’s going to happen then? None of these “reforms” make any sense nor have been properly thought through, but those in power are not listening as they are utterly determined to trash the economy, kick sick and disabled people with mental health and hidden disability issues off benefits and into jobs that don’t exist, while scrapping the benefits system, which is their real intention, along with privatising the NHS, which in its current form, is already useless and needs its own separate body for mental health and disability

In regards to the bedroom question it's to try & see your housing element entitlement. For example due to my partner & I's health issues we cannot share a room this means we are entitled to live in a 2 bedroom place. So we are entitled to a higher housing element rate. If you live alone,in a 2 bed properly but have a need for the second room i.e medical equipment or a carer stays occasionally, you will be entitled to a 2 bed housing element.

The care needs threshold for an extra bedroom to be paid for is receiving overnight care regularly & frequently.

@IrishManc so sorry that you are going through this.its such a diabolical system and how anyone survives it I just don't know.Ive just left messages on my journal saying I've absolutely had enough of it all now.I don't want any further contact or communication from them.I cannot cope with the U.c system at all.if it means me and my son are homeless then I'd rather that than deal with the constant stress from them

I completely understand, they did the same thing to me and I had a massive meltdown that left me feeling suicidal.

why do you think you should not have to pay a certain amount of council tax if you have a spare bedroom and are under occupied
0 -
No it's nothing to do with that.they have all my details already.absolutelty nothing has changed No change in circumstances.i will and am happy to pay for what I'm supposed to pay for and am and have already filled everything out accordingly.its not a question of avoiding paying anything I.e council tax as I'm paying for the bedrooms I'm under occupying and they already have this information.they just keep on sending me the same questions to answer and it's driving me insane.i just recently recieved pip and asked the question if it could be related to that.so it wasn't a question of avoidance of paying council tax
