Job centre scanning proof of savings

Hi
We have had to take in proof of savings to the job centre before for checks and they haven’t kept a copy. They are now saying they need to scan it, can they do this? I’m worried from a financial security point of view having all account details of where savings are which anyone at the job centre and DWP can access
Thanks

I understand your concerns there @tootiredforthis The DWP can keep any files on record for I believe it's a maximum of a year, then they are destroyed, as per GDPR needs. Though usually scans are only taken whilst they run the review, then deleted securely.
