I bought a brand new mobility scooter costing £3150 I could not get on with the scooter and gave me chronic back ache so after 5 days I returned the scooter with 12 miles on the clock. I returned this well within the 14 days cooling off period. After the scooter was returned I had a phone call from Green power mobility saying the scooter was damaged, the damage was the tires were worn and it had 12 miles on the clock so they would not be able to sell the scooter as new there was no other damage whatsoever. Also they said that because we went to the warehouse to purchase the scooter the 14 days cooling off period doesnt count, so they are going to take £500 off my refund. What a RIP OFF company this is, i dont have any more money to purchase a new scooter now. I was always told my statutory rights are 14 days cooling off from purchase, I should have a full refund. Bast*ards

Review after Green power told all there lies on a reply

1:- My nreview is not fictional at all I have told the truth in my review
2 - I did visit your site to order my scooter with a few extras, I did not ask for a quick delivery at all, David the workshop manager told me he would have my scooter ready within a couple of hours and he said this is the normal turn around, so I arranged to collect the scooter the next day. As for going on holiday, this is a complete lie from greenpower.
3:- We spoke to greenpower on the next morning to arrange pick up the scooter as talked about the previous day. We were told by green power to give them a ring when we were outside their workshop but not to enter the workshop as there was an important meeting from someone, we had to wait outside until someone came out to hand over the scooter. This happened to be a lad out of the office as no one off the shop floor could leave the meeting. The scooter was loaded straight onto my trailer WITHOUT ANY DEMONSTRATION OF HOW IT WORKS OR HOW THINGS OPERATED.
3:- Yes I did go back to the workshop to find out about de ristricting, I was getting rather anoyed with the woman I saw as she wanted me to sign a form to say I had asked them to deristrict it, but then that would cancel any warrentee I had with my brand new scooter. As I didnt want to loose my warrentee I didnt get it done. Although when I picked up my scooter the first time the lad that loaded it onto my trailer said that the switch is about there, pointing with his foot he said I cant do it for you as I might get seen on the cameras. I could not get down to even see if I could find the switch because of my disability. So the scooter stayed at 8mph.
4:- I called back to site after emailing the right to cancel the scooter form off of their website, I wasnt angry or agresive, there was no need to be, as far as I was concerned I was just returning the scooter for a full refund.
5:- When I returned the scooter it was given a good inspection to see if there was any damage. I watched the workshop lads give it a therough going over, I asked them was everything OK and the reply was yes no problems, they had to fill in an inspection form to say there findings, they didnt find a single scratch. I know this because I had taken loads of photos of my scooter before it went back to them, all these photos have date and time stamps on them. The only thing greenpower was keeping £500 of my money was for 12 miles of were on the tyres. Disgusting. The scooter was in the same condition as when i purchased it. I will be asking to see the evidence of these scratches and comparing them to my photos. So Haley Barker you are a lier. Greenpower may have what they think is outstanding customer service, but you try telling them there is something wrong and then see what there customer service is like.
I would just like to point out that I am still waiting for my money to be put back into my account, I also purchased another scooter from a reputable dealer, I explained what had happened with greenpower he just said its tipical of them as I wasnt the first and wont be the last to be treated that way, and for trying to withhold £500 of my money for 12 miles of tyre were he couldnt believe it.
SO AFTER READING THIS REVIEW MAKE YOUR OWN MINDS UP BUT BE VERY CARFUL WITH THIS SLIPPERY RIP OFF COMPANY AS THEY ARE APPARENTLY WELL KNOWN FOR DODGY ACTIONS AND I STAND BY EVERYTHING I HAVE WRITTEN IN THIS REVIEW.

Hi @Busterdad have you seen this post?

It seems like complaints are common. It’s a shame because their scooters look lovely but they seem to have a high rate of complaints everywhere. I think the CAB online have a consumer helpline. Besides your 14 days you should be able to return products that are faulty or not fit for purpose regardless of signs of use. No scooter is designed to last less than 14 days or one trip.
