Looking to move from Portsmouth for West Sussex / Brighton , would it affect my claim? Or would I just have to update address?

As previously advised it won't effect any of your payments. Just a simple change of address for both.

You would update UC with your new address and rent amount if claiming Housing Element.

You would update PIP with your new address.

There really is nothing more to it than that.

Perhaps you'd prefer to confirm my advice:

I keep researching online and it says this

    Here's a more detailed explanation:

    • Housing Benefit Ends:Moving to a different council area triggers the end of your Housing Benefit claim.
    • Universal Credit Claim:You'll need to make a new claim for Universal Credit to continue receiving financial assistance for housing.
    • Exceptions:If you are moving into temporary accommodation provided by the council, you may be able to continue with Housing Benefit.
    • Check for other benefits:If you are receiving other benefits, you need to report the change in circumstances to the DWP.
    • Report Changes:Report any changes in your circumstances to the DWP as soon as possible.
    • Check if you should move to Universal Credit:If you are unsure if you should move to Universal Credit, you should contact the Citizens Advicefor advice.

I saw your last thread about this. Kimmy is right all you need to do is update your address, they have told you multiple times..

I don't see how moving would affect your claim. What ever you are reading on the Internet is wrong.

Listen to Kimmy. Update address and be done with it. I understand you are worrying but believe me it's fine.

You mentioned you already get LCWRA.

LCWRA is part of Universal Credit.

So any help with rent you are getting should be Housing Element (part of UC)

Therefore my advice has been based on you already getting Universal Credit.

The information you posted is for those claiming Housing Benefit under the old system and not already claiming UC.
