It’s unlikely there’s much you can do. Their T&Cs state you must inform them of any convictions any named drivers get whilst on the scheme.

You should receive a letter from them soon detailing your suspension.
This will tell you if you can appeal.
But I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Usually you can only appeal to rejoin after the 2 year suspension is up.

I don’t know how serious your husband’s driving convictions are but there’s a chance he could have been driving around uninsured as they won’t cover him with certain convictions.

You could start looking at alternatives, hospital transport is available whether through the hospital trust or local volunteer schemes, you'll also have the £300 odd mobility payment going into your bank to fund taxis.

Hi @jadeedwards, welcome to the community. I'm really sorry for what you're going through with your car.

Motability are often quite strict about convictions as all has to be above board for insurance purposes. You may be able to appeal but I'm not sure how successful that would be in the circumstances.

As Kimmy mentioned, are hospital transport services or taxis an option for you? I know it's not the same as having your own car, but hopefully you can still get out and about a bit. Some councils also run Dial-a-ride services to take people to appointments, so that might be worth a look.

Hope you can find some solutions soon 💜

Q2 What information do we collect about you?
Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). We may ask for your Driving Licence Number (DLN) and the DLN of any named drivers as part of underwriting the insurance of your vehicle. The number is used to do an automated check with the DVLA driver database to retrieve the licence status, licence entitlement, relevant restriction information and any endorsement and conviction details.

You may be able to get a used car and cover the running costs using your Mobility payments. Though it would have to be quite old and potentially less reliable than a Motability car if you don't have much in savings to cover the initial purchase price.
