    hi

    I had a phone assessment

The assessor asked me am I employed

    My answer no

But after the call I remembered I do volunteer not paid work now I am panicking I didn’t say

What do I do get on and tell them I am so scared I may have not been forthcoming with my situation

I think the question was posed as in are you in paid employment.Probably why you immediately answered no.Try not to panic too much it's what I imagine most people in your situation would have immediately replied x

I am so scared I will be accused of fraud that I didn’t say I was volunteering I having to take a antidepressant to try to calm down

Try not to panic. The questions about work are used for context. As the DWP keep saying PIP is about daily living and not working. Working or not isn’t what makes a claimant eligible, it is how your condition(s) affect your ability to undertake the Daily Living and Mobility task descriptors.
I understand your concern but you were asked about work and you answered honestly. Volunteer work and paid work are different things. In any case it should not have any bearing on your eligibility

Hi @sexymark555 and a warm welcome to the community!

I see Treacle and Jane have given some good advice and support so I won't add anything extra information today but I hope you are okay and I really doubt that question will be a make or break the pip outcome.

It's lovely to have you here on the community and I hope you enjoy your time exploring it😊

You can't be accused of fraud for doing voluntary work.

Hi @sexymark557, it's unlikely that this will cause a problem. I haven't heard many examples of PIP looking at ESA claims before, it's usually assessed separately.

If you feel it would help you feel less worried about it, you could call the PIP enquiry line to ask them whether you need to update anything about your volunteering.

    PIP enquiry line
    Telephone: 0800 121 4433
    Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet

They are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
