Hi Catherine
Its very hard right now but can you try to stay away from the green paper thread for a while?
I know its hard, we are all very worried but the constant speculation and people up all night posting on there and all day is not doing our anxiety and fears any good.
I refuse to let it rule my daily thoughts so I only dip in and out because the thread is there and its hard to avoid it all together but I am trying to distract myself with positive things to keep myself sane.
I am going out to a social club today for a few hours.
Its very boring in there but I get to meet friends and have a bit of a laugh.
Later I have made cheesy pasta bake to put in the oven for tea and I am going to watch a drama on TV.
Its very hard but we need to try to find a way to distact ourselves.

As said before, we've all got each others backs @Catherine21 come hell or high water.
Though I think you do need to take a break from social media, there's a lot of misinformation out there which will only make you feel worse. I doubt the government will be forcing people with untreated psychosis into the workplace, or with health conditions that would stop them working.

Just came to say the same as @Strawberry1 to you Catherine. Please look after yourself, listening to a bit of music just for 20 minutes helped me this morning and watching less news today just to calm/reset my mind. Thinking of you and hoping you can just let the weight of all this fall off your shoulders, even just for today, just for now. So many best wishes to you and that you can find some moments of joy in your day ❤️ 💖

Hello @Catherine21
I so understand where you are at right now. I have said as much myself on here. But I have had to make a point of only reading a bit each day here otherwise I will go off the deep end.
As others have said try to occupy your time and mind with other things like good telly, art, creative craft things (if health allows) etc. I am lucky I refurbish and restore antique, vintage and retro oil lamps and it allows me to sit down to do it. I do have to take breaks often due to arthtritis in my hands amongst other places but still loads of fun and distracts my mind.
Ask for help on here if you need to talk as 1 of the Scope team contacted me when they realised I wasn't doing well and not only gave advice but also offered to help by contacting GP, council etc.
We care about you and you are just as special and important as anyone else!!

I'm glad you're learning to know when to get off social media and get some hobby time in @LadyTinks it can get a bit much, especially in the current climate. learning some self care is very important. ❤️

ThanThank you Albus. I learned the hard way when in a space of 6 weeks my best friend had a stroke a few weeks before he had to movewith my helpish, my parents passed within 2 weeks of each other in California and both sides of family turned on me because I couldn't get to California because of Covid 19. I did an attempt and finally withdrew mostly from Facebook, deleted twitter/x and other social media which has done wonders

Hi Catherine 21, I'm the same. My daughter said I shouldn't watch the news etc especially gb news ,talk which the presenters are spiteful. I'm doing craft called diamond art which I get from temu which is cheaper. ,it keeps me occupied, takes a while to do . I'm doing 30x40 one of Paris. Take care

Oh @LadyTinks I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that in such a short time. I can empathise to some degree as something similar happened to me, but it was my father passing from Covid in South America.
Getting off social media for a bit was the best choice I ever made. I'm back on some to keep in touch with people, but I always take "holidays" and deactivate my accounts for a few weeks.
