PIP but waiting for diagnosis?

morning..

I’m wanting to fill in PIP form asap (never applied before) I’ve had anxiety and depression for years on meds but I’m now starting CBT and waiting for an adhd and autism referral to be assessed. I was referred for CBT to help with what we think is BPD and OCD however I have no official diagnoses, when filling in PIP will it be difficult for me to confirm the above with no evidence from the GP that I do definitely have bpd etc?

Hope that all made sense, thank you!

PIP is assessed on how a condition effects you.. you are awaiting assessments.. so that can be put on your form. You probably have more evidence than you realise, just not a confirmed diagnosis.

thank you I appreciate your response and think I was over thinking needing a confirmed diagnosis for more evidence

Just to add to what @Yani09 mentioned-do you have online access to your GP records and a printer/library? If so, you can print off the relevant sections from when referrals were made or discussions took place. Many GP practices also provide existing records free of charge, but if you need specific reports, they may charge a fee…always worth asking!
I also found the PIP guidesfrom Benefits and Work very helpful. They offer full access for a small annual membership fee (£19.95) with a 7-day trial period too.
I’m sure more people with expert advice will join in as the day progresses.

Best wishes with your PIP application!
