re universal credit " review"

Hi, I'm in the LCWRA group of universal credit and have been for 6 years. Today I received a notification in my journal to upload my last 4 months bank statements and photo id. Is this standard and has anyone else been through this. I understand the checks for new claims but has anyone had this for existing ones? The second question is if I have no photo id what then?

I am migrating from legacy benefits to universal credit. 2 weeks of the 5 week wait to go. I have completed everything in my journal, do you think they will request my bank statements too?

These reviews are random, so we can't predict whether you will be selected or not.
If you are it would be anytime after your first payment- as these reviews are to make sure payments are correct from a financial perspective.

I pay everything on my credit card and pay it off at end of month, building up some credit history. Will they require credit card statements? Guessing not if it's just to confirm payments are correct from a financial perspective?

What information do they check with a passport, trips away etc ?

This is part of Labour's crackdown on fraud. They now have 6000 staff working full time on UC reviews so they'll get through everyone in time.
They are looking for 2 things
- Undeclared capital
- People spending too much time out of the UK to maintain eligibility to claim.

I get that, but do they do checks on passports to check time away if you submit it as id

No. They won't need credit card statements as that is debt and they're looking for capital.
They will want to see Paypal statements if you hold credit there, betting accounts, energy accounts - anything in your name where you have a credit balance.
On your accounts they are looking for regular payments going into other personal accounts - you will be asked what that money is and that's in case you are passing it to a friend/relation to stash for you.
And unusual patterns of spend. So, for example if you have the same sorts of transactions for regular amounts across all 4 months but in amongst them is a single larger withdrawl, expect to be questioned on that.
Basically, if you spend all your UC every month and the statements show a regular pattern, you will be fine. Don't worry at all about what you have spent your money on. They aren't interested in that at all.
Paying off credit cards and loans is fine too.

Your allowed out of the country for for weeks. You then have to return to the UK.then you can go away again. If you are out of the uk for 4 weeks or more you have to declare it.

Some cheeky fraudsters don't even live in the UK!! Which is why some people have to provide a pic of themselves holding up their passport in front of their address🤣

They put passport numbers in to the system. Tells dwp exactly how long you have been away and exact dates, times, places

Thanks for your reply, have you any evidence of this with a link.

It's common knowledge. It's been happening for years. Usually they check if they have information someone is staying out the uk.

Common knowledge is not evidence. I'm not saying it isn't true but can you link me an article or thread which shows the DWP are using passport numbers to check what trips people are taking when submitted as id

II've posted a Reddit link

Reddit isn't the best place to get accurate benefits advice.

Not benefit advice. Travel movements.

Agreed. In your opinion if submitting a passport for id, are the DWP likely to find out destinations travelled to and could they? Nothing to hide but knowing how they work they could easily say a trip anywhere is evidence of good health or whatever other daftness they conjure up

You can travel with ill health. Even people with severe disabilities are allowed a break. That won't affect your benefits. Unless you are out of the country for 4 weeks or more.
