I would like to start this daily devotional with an opening scripture which always tells me that I am loved unconditionally .

I often muse on these words by John Henry Newman:
"God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.
Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me. Still, He knows what He is about.”

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

1 Timothy 5:8
"If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever". The verse emphasizes the importance of providing for one's family and relatives, and suggests that failure to do so is a denial of faith and a worse sin than that of an unbeliever.

Any number of songs by Zach Williams. He sounds country but they are Christian rock songs.
Listen to 'Less Like Me' and 'Old Church Choir' and many others. Old Church Choir is really uptempo and uplifting.
Yes, as for scripture, too many to name but Jeremiah 29 vs 11 is superb. God is sovereign no matter what happens in our lives and in the world in general. This does not mean that unpleasant and evil things don't and won't happen because clearly as can be seen, they do and oft times. I believe that when evil and injustice come to the fore, as they are now all over the world, we Christians have a chance to show God's love by standing out and steadfastly refusing to live as the world chooses to live. Equally, sometimes God allows evil to briefly triumph because even we as Christians are not living as we should. Christian faith is not passive, it's not a badge we wear or because we were born in the Bible Belt or grew up in a Christian household or dad was a vicar or anything like that, it is us as individuals and community choosing to follow and obey Christ in a world thst is usually completely indifferent and often downright hostile to Christ and His Gospel.
