The power of music

Hi
In these trying times when everything seems to be falling to pieces and those in power are often making decisions that have a direct impact on others I thought I would start this thread as a way to maybe cheer folks up.
Music has always been an important part of my life and I am always excited to discover new bands, songs or performances.
Not every performance is going to move you or have an immediate impact but those that do can be really powerful.
Music can make you smile, frown, be sad or happy and a million other emotions.
Look forward to your suggestions
Here’s mine from a group called Marillion, hopefully link will open

Lovely idea @Bydand I agree music is such a powerful tool and one I use often to help shift my moods. I've not heard Marillion in ages though!
I always find No Rain by Blind Melon really lifts my mood. It just gives those carefree, summer vibes. 😊2 -
That definitely has a vibe going on!
My tastes are eclectic if nothing else, from rock to jazz and everything in between.
I’m going through a spell listening to both the wailin jennys ,Ruth moody and Grabrielle Aplin….all very talented musicians/ singers and well worth checking out.

Ah nice, loving those! I'm thinking you may like one of my favourite artists, Noah Gundersen, if you've not heard him already?
This is him covering one of my fave Counting Crows songs. ❤️

Music is one of the best things ever

The Title of the song " Music was my first love and it will be my last " . That sticks with me always

I recall watching Frank Sinatra and Celine Dion singing 'All the Way' with my mum and sister on Boxing Day 2019. I'd never seen it or heard this duet before even though I love both, it was very cleverly done as he'd already passed. Very moving.

Astrud Gilberto was a Brazilian samba and bossa nova singer and songwriter, 'Tristeza' (Goodbye Sadness) was one of my favourites from the 70s, was so lucky to see her in London in the '90s at Jazz Cafe. She passed away a couple of years ago, massive advocate of animal welfare and an artist. In fact I'm going to play it now 🤣
LOVE this thread thank you!

Hi ,
Music has always played a significant role in my life , one of the reasons that my ex husband was a man who had a great passion for music and music has always been his passion and worked at a radio station.
Music also helped me in my work, i often listened to Ehrling Music - Champagne Ocean , Dance with me, Sthlm Sunset, and other songs or Eric Prydz, or other artists, i also love Depeche Mode and their music had a big impact on my friends in Poland , even the way they dressed.
Kind regards.0 -
Oh I do love some Depeche Mode @Agnia they're often on my playlists.
