NIGEL HAS DEMENTIA..

EastEnders fan here ☺️
Paul Bradley plays Nigel better than ever, doesn't he? Playing a man with dementia, he's utterly convincing. Cries like he means it.
Then there's hardman Phil Mitchell now attending a 'group support thing' following his mental health crisis and wanting to help his old pal Nigel. I hope it isn't too sad but I have a feeling it will be.

Very good acting. I stopped watching it years ago when the omnibus on a Sunday was stopped but started again recently (just before the Live episode). Missed it this week but need to find it on Iplayer. It's going to be very sad I'm sure. Lost my lovely mum to dementia and cancer just over 2 years ago and it's still raw to me but I will still watch it.

Wait, Nigel is back?! I'm so out of the loop with Eastenders, but I did catch a bit of the plot with the dodgy boyfriend.
My late father had dementia, it was horrible to watch, especially when our main contact was via video calls as he was in another country. I hope you can heal from it all soon @Santosha121 -
Wait, Nigel is back?
He fled the marital home to avoid telling his wife about the diagnosis and being a burden to her. He returned to the Square because, as you know, long-term memories are stronger than short-term and he's afraid of forgetting who Nigel is. He's embarrassed and trying to keep his diagnosis a secret but the symptoms are beginning to show.
Episodes featuring mental health crises are building. Phil attending his 'support group thing' will reveal what lies behind his troubled life and perhaps encourage other men to face their own fears.

I have found EastEnders to be the better of the soaps this year.
I didn't watch EastEnders when Nigel was originally in it so I only know him in the present day but he has very quickly become one of my favourites so it's going to be very difficult i think as time goes on.
He is so sweet and his friendship with the local hard man Phil is so important to show i believe especially around Phils mental health storyline.
Both actors are absolutely outstanding and are setting the bar high each episode!1
