Hi, my name is Elainepughie12!

hi everyone
Joined so I don’t feel quite so alone thru these worrying times
I live alone and have fibromyalgia,type 1 diabetes 33 years,spondylitis,neuropathy.
I have worked since i was 16.
I am on UC Last two half years after spending all of my divorce settlement to pay bill and also working 20 hours a week.
I applied for lwcra and got it,I also applied PIP which I scored 0 points. Didn’t make sense same DWP assessors totally different outcomes!
I was so mentally drained with it and humiliated I choose not to go further.
I knew with my hours working and UC plus lwcra I could just keep roof over my head.
Winters hard hardly have heating on two hours of an evening no more. Very bad for my fibromyalgia. I still continue to try and work even thou my job is manual in retail, stock, rebuild, collecting, lifting basket and fixing trollies.
I can confirm that my employee does not care re my fibromyalgia or my pain no matter how many times I have tried to explain. So how they think companies will care or adjust for any disabled people. I know also they wouldn’t have employed me knowing I had type 1 diabetes as I had to fight them with my union for fixed shifts as they were giving me ones which didn’t allow me to take my injections or eat. I was asked did I disclose my type 1 diabetes and I did on my application which I did say why? As I knew I didn’t have to.
My fibro was only diagnosed three years ago but they don’t care I’m constantly in pain as being made to lift and collect baskets is to much. Reasonable adjustment not been made for me. These are why some disabled people would leave but I don’t have that choice I live alone and can’t afford to loose my job but if I loose lwcra I will become homeless. Why don’t they care about that for us.
Most employees need to realise what they are obliged to give but they don’t even thou I work just as hard as a full bodied college.
I am terrified about my future and trying to continue working is getting harder and harder.

HI Elaine I Also have fibromyalgia as well as rheumatoid arthritis , osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and cushings disease.
I had to stop working 3 years ago and claim pip and uc with health benefit. My employer used 'redundancy' excuse to terminate my employment due to the amount of time I was unable to get into work.
I had a desk job, which people seem to think is very easy to do. But I would be in extreme pain using computer and would seize up sitting at desk, despite getting up and trying to move a bit. My symptoms actually get worse the more active I am. I can't drive distances of more than an hour any more.
I also live alone with a small mortgage. If I lose these benefits I will also lose my home.
I often feel I am not believed. My condition is not taken seriously enough. I only cleaned my fridge recently then I was crashed out on the bed for the rest of the day, unable to walk or use my hands for the rest of the day.
It's a disgrace we are being targeted. I am in pain every day. If a 'normal' person felt like me for one day, they would call in sick but I'm expected to work. It won't work , if I can't work I can't, and who would employ me? I suffer with extreme fatigue , so if I was able to do one day I would be off sick the next day. With no income, as most employers don't pay sick pay these days.
It is really worrying times, causing us all more stress and anxiety than we already suffer with.
Take care
Ann

Hi Anne
I keep torturing myself watching everything which isn’t doing me any good as working part time is a challenge on its own.
I’m praying we will win this disgraceful attack on our human rights.
Take care of yourself
Now to get dressed and go to work.
As you say walk one day in our shoes they wouldn’t cope.
