Hi I'm new to this,I need advice and not sure we're to go other than cab,I was on income support,last August I was transferred to UC,after two months I was told to claim capability so I applied I had the assessment.over the phone,a few weeks later I'm told I'm unfit for work and will get an extra money,I took a call from UC yesterday and I'm told there taking 200 per month of my money,every month and i don't get extra money for been unfit for work,and that I owned them ,which I have to pay it back out of my already reduced benefits,I am now worse off then ever before,I need help please,I'm also dyslexic and waiting for autism assessment so I'm not very good at this,can any one help me please

    Were you previously receiving Carers Element under UC and Transitional Protection?

    no one told me what transitional protection was/is,before my UC claim I was on carers allowance and income support,I'm frightened to death I won't have money for my bills,I cant believe they have cut my money and in debt to them which means more to loss I don't no what to I've emailed a local MP but apparently she can't help I'm not in her area x

    If you get Transitional Protection then it will be listed on your payment statement.

    As it seems you did get CE & likely TP my advice is:

    The same person cannot receive both Carers Element and LCWRA. If entitled to both only the higher amount (LCWRA) is paid.

    As the system was designed what happened used to be correct, but there was an Upper Tribunal hearing in October and the recently released outcome was successful for claimants.

    The judgment was TP should be reduced by the difference between removal of CE and addition of LCWRA (£217.88).
