Hi if you are on Pip but have a change of circumstances how long does it take to be re assessed and how is an assessment carried out??

Hi @Ann7,
It can vary a lot from case to case so it's difficult to say exactly how long it will take unfortunately. If it is your conditions that have changed, it can take a few months for it all to get sorted but your current claim will stay the same as you wait. They'll often ask you to fill out a form detailing how your health has changed and supply any new evidence you might have.
They may want to assess you again, in which case it is often a phone assessment where they'll ask you question about how your conditions are affecting your day to day life. Sometimes it will be a paper assessment which means you won't need to speak to them at all. They'll then make a decision about whether your payments need to change.

@Ann7 Agree with Rosie, a lot quicker than a normal PIP review, sure I read recently on this forum around 12 weeks.
