Commitment to work appointment

I get ESA for limited work capability and have a telephone appointment today at 1pm with DWP about the commitment to work. It says I will lose this money if I don't make the commitment but I don't understand the reason for this. If I can't work for health reasons how can I commit to work to qualify for the benefit? Please reply in simple terms if possible as this bureaucratic nonsense baffles me and gives me a headache.

Looking at your previous posts, this is to confirm your commitments for New Style ESA. Your only commitment will be to keep them informed of any changes.
The language used in the messages assumes you are a brand new claim for NS ESA.
You are not a new claim you are a transfer. You will be in the Support Group for NS ESA automatically.
It will be a very brief call.
It is a legal box ticking exercise on the DWP's part.
