ARE PIP REVIEWS DELAYED ?

I am due my review this month , saying they will contact me . My award ends next March 30th .
Are pip awards being extended because of back log ?

Hi,
Yes, some PIP awards are still being extended due to backlogs.
Next March is almost a year away though, so it does seem early to be getting review forms.

Hi guys I'm up for a review January 2027 I no it's still early to say but do you think there will be a delay on reviews even then ?

It says on my award letter that they will contact me after March30th 2025 , so I am expecting them to . I need to tell them about my hearing loss , it affects me a lot I am vulnerable while out . Not hearing oncoming traffic , nearly got knocked down ,so hoping they do contact me sooner rather later . Still if they extend it I am worried i will then need to get 4 points to get daily living , I need 2 points to get enhanced and I think NHS hearing will get me those points . I'm so stressed right now like many others over all this .

Oh I see, that's just standard wording on the award letter. I wouldn't expect the forms for another few months myself.
If you believe you qualify for a higher award now, you should put in a change of circumstances. That way, any increase will be backdated to the current date. Whereas any increases from reviews are not always backdated, the decision maker has discretion on those ones.

There have been backlogs for PIP for the past 5+ years, so I would still expect backlogs in another year or two personally.

Thankyou for that information

Thank you , would it stop my payments doing this? I cannot afford to lose money right now .
DO I ring them to tell them about the change ?

Hi folks,
Getting more than a tad anxious. I’ve had two previous extensions due to backlog delays. The last expired in March 2025. Not heard anything, so phoned and know I’m getting payment in April. They didn’t have a cut off on the system so told me not to worry!!! Easier said than done!! Can anyone else relate? Do DWP still have a huge backlog?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was told reviews are taking a year to complete , so I've got a re-assessment because its quicker .

Sorry for the delay. Just to confirm, you won't lose payments while waiting for the assessment.
