I would let them know in writing now. They can work out the rest. Don't worry, it will be fine and if you tell them then you done what you need to.

I thought that council tax reduction got carried over once dwp notified council of closing current job account due to new uc claim?

if I’m wrong then I’ve made a mistake (and my welfare related to do list gets longer)

Can anyone else further clarify this

(Really missing poppy - it’s days like today you really appreciate everything she gave - kimi is also great but poppy was/is the og queen of welfare related info)

I am doing the ESA to UC migration now, awaiting first UC statement and payment.I spoke to the council today,to check if I need to give them details,as I also receive council tax support. They told me it is all done automatically,DWP pass all info straight to them,so no need to do anything.

Also wondering where Poppy has gone, hope she is ok?

Poppy has been unwell, but I’m in contact with her via email and will be sure to let her know that she is missed. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that those who offer advice do so voluntarily, often while managing their own health and disabilities. I’m sure she’ll appreciate knowing that people are thinking of her.

Council Tax Reduction does get sorted automictically when migrating.

In some cases it gets calculated differently on UC to ESA so your amounts could change. Just keep an eye out for the letter or email from your council for now.
