Dogs make my heart swell.

I've always been dog crazy, my mum said as a child if i met a dog in the street I'd always say "Ah mummy he's hungry". She said if they were the size of a donkey I still wanted to stroke they're head
I've never been without my own dogs since I was 3, not including family dogs, I usually have 2-3 at a time but lately, past three years only one. My spoiled handsome and very cheeky baby boy.
Anyhoo, Animals in general I get along with so easily, I use to work in a no kill sanctuary and brought home various dogs, cats etc, I miss those 17 years so badly, was a different world in that shelter. We took in Animals we weren't really meant to,Rabbits, Ferrets, God I loved the ferrets.
I've had numerous furry beings in my home and loved the daily cleaning of their Hutches, cages etc, letting them have freedom to run and exercise, But dogs will always be my first love.🐾🐾
When i was a lot more "Able" I was never seen without dogs at my side.
Luckily my parents live ten seconds away and have a huge garden so my boy can play and run and chase a ball and my nephew brings his little dog on his odd day off and she runs with mine, or he will walk both together.
Wishing I could go back to those days of bringing the dogs on beach holidays and watching them swim regularly will never happen again,my past dogs never leave my thoughts.
The best years of my life have involved Animals.
I got a weeks break away last yr, first time in a long time,my parents went too as I'd struggle alone, The doggo had the time of his life. It was wonderful watching him have such freedom on a huge beach,as I sat watching I wished I could run with him. But it was enough to see him have fun. Esp at the particular time of the day and evening when the beach was mostly deserted. My god the simple things in life really are the best. A week away i will not forget anytime soon. It done the heart good.
What makes you happy that's just a little thing a lot would take for granted?

Awwwww @Catherine21
I'd a little yorkie called Pixieboy I lost him two yrs ago he was 16 yrs and 6weeks old. My staffy was 14. But my youngest was only 5. I fought for 14mths to save him from the most extreme seizures. But it wasn't to be,he was my soul pup. I miss all 7 of my dogs. I fight for them all until he end. It's never easy losing them. It stays with me forever.

This was my baby boy, Ozzy The Prince of Barkless, a Staffy x Whippet. Never barked, loved the vet and post lady, was a snuggle monster, he was always checking on me with my mental health, flicking the duvet I had on the sofa with his nose so he could get under and go to sleep behind my legs. Not seen him since I kissed him goodbye when my ex wife ended our marriage in October 2023. Just hope he is safe and well.

The ppl had my staffy one day as a pup,he was 9weeks,they didn't want him,I'd an Elderly yorkie and a puppy Jrt at the time, but I couldn't think of the staffy going go knows where, so I took him,he fitted in perfectly. One of the best dogs in every way I ever had. The softest quietest friendliest soul. Had him 14 years. Never gave me a day's trouble. I loved him to bits. All my dogs slept with me,except my Rottweiler. He got too hot and would go downstairs. Your boys gorg. I'm sure he's doing fine. I pray he is.
