Paper-based assessment

hi, I just had a paper based assessment. The phone call was pretty long too. What does this mean? The nurse did say that it’s very evident that I am struggling. So that’s why I got a paperbased assessment. But is this a sign that it’s likely to be a ‘success’? If it can be called that. Do these usually have an answer form the DWP a bit quicker? I had a few questions about mobility and I think the nurse said it’s clear I can’t walk 20m. But didn’t ask much questions about the daily living. I am wondering if I will get some points for mobility and that’s it? Thanks

Hi and a very warm welcome to the community
It sounds like you had a telephone assessment not paper based

If this was a paper assessment it sounds as if they called to check on your mobility. I have helped two people who were both awarded the enhanced rate of both components following a phone call. Both were only asked about their mobility. I think that this was because they had clearly demonstrated on the PIP form and in the medical evidence they submitted that they met the points score for the daily living activities component. However it may be that this was a short telephone assessment.

Thank you for the welcome :)
No the nurse said more than once this is not an assessment and is paper based. I have ADHD so nothing is quick with me unfortunately for everyone!

The nurse said she was from a paper based assessment team and that this was not an assessment at all. Just questions, if it was an assessment I’d have asked for a different appointment because I was completely off guard and I’m in a flare up atm so I had to keep asking for her to repeat questions etc. my memory is awful at the moment but I am sure she said something about having a lot of evidence for the test but just needed to work out the mobility questions and I think one was about toilet issues. My partner heard the initial part about paper based but gave me some privacy for the rest. I’m just so worried and nervous because my memory is awful and had I’d known I’d have printed some bits off to remind me. I’m hoping for the best from this comment but I won’t expect anything until I get the decision I suppose!
