Carers allowance

Morning all, I contacted carers allowance on the 24th December to inform them I stopped caring, but I am still getting carers allowance deducted from my uc, I contacted carers allowance on the 12th March and was told it was suspended, supplied additional information and was told it will be cancelled, just got my uc statement and it's still being deducted, just contacted carers allowance again and they said issue with their end, they have informed myself to add a message to my journal to ask uc to check the spoc system this will show I have not recieved any payments of carers allowance since cancelling, but it won't show up cancelled is this correct thanx

Hi @Jon7777777 that sounds like you've had a bit of a nightmare getting it cancelled. Have UC come back to you since you added your message on your journal? I wonder if it's still set as suspended until it's gone through the full process of shutting down.

I have, not yet, but what does carers allowance mean by saying get uc to check the spoc system

SPOC is simply a single point of contact, a little speculation on my part, but as the government moved to real-time information for benefits, it suggests that there is a central spot where they can check what benefits you receive, and when they are stopped. If this is the case, then it should be a quick enough process for UC to check if the carers allowance has been stopped.
